Lumberjacks dominate Monticello Billies, 34-0

The Union Bank Saline River Shootout trophy stayed in Warren where it belongs on Friday night with a win of 34-0 against the Monticello Billies.

The Lumberjacks received the opening kickoff with a drive at their own 38-yard line.

The Lumberjacks later got the ball to the 13-yard line with a 52-yard play.

From the 13-yard line, Landon Wolfe ran to the end zone for a touchdown. The kick by Jose Jacinto was good, putting Warren ahead 7-0.

Wolfe made another touchdown in the first quarter, along with the extra point by Jacinto, the Lumberjacks had 14-0.

The Lumberjacks made another touchdown early in the second quarter. Quarterback Maddox Lassiter made a pass down the middle to Antonio Jordan who caught the ball and ran 65-yards down the field. Jordan got the ball again and making a five-yard run. Jacinto’s extra point was good, giving the Lumberjacks 21-0.

With five minutes left in the third quarter, Jordan made another touchdown running through the Billies’ defense line at the five-yard line. With the extra point by Jacinto, the Lumberjacks continued to dominate 28-0.

Not too long after, Neon’dre Thomas made an interception at the Billie’s end zone, preventing them from scoring.

The Lumberjacks went into the fourth quarter 28-0.

At 8:34, the Lumberjacks made it two yards from the end zone where Jalin Lee plowed through the defensive line for a touchdown. A flag was thrown preventing Jacinto from making the extra point.

The Lumberjacks’ offense had a total of 435 yards.

Cody Weatherspoon carried the ball nine times for 91 yards.

Treylon Jackson had nine carries for 42 yards.

Both Landon Wolfe and Antonio Jordan scored two touchdowns each. Jalin Lee also scored a touchdown.

Lassiter went for 171 yards passing with one touchdown.

Neon’dre Thomas caught four passes for 74 yards and Jordan caught two for 82 yards.

The Lumberjacks play against Hamburg at 7 p.m. on Friday at home.
