Thomas Franklin “Frank” Martin, 80, of New Edinburg,  passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Belle View Estates in Monticello.   He was born on November 17, 1942 in New Edinburg to the late Jack Martin and Lizzie Mae Parker Martin.  Frank professed Jesus as his Savior and was a faithful member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church in New Edinburg.

Frank was a carpenter and a member of Carpenter Union Local 198 where in his younger years helped build the Dallas skyline.  In addition to building countless buildings, he built a wonderful life and always will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.  He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

To cherish the many wonderful memories, he leaves behind his loving wife, Rita Briant Martin of New Edinburg, son, Joey Martin of North Little Rock; daughters, Shelly Martin Grider and spouse Jeremy of Cabot, and Paula McFarland Williams and spouse Brian of El Dorado; brother, Coy Ray Martin of New Edinburg; grandchildren, Tiffany Michelle Bishop and spouse B.J., Terry Allen Martin, Andrew Grider and spouse Riley, Madison Saathoff and spouse Zach, Tanner Williams and spouse Renee, Taylor Williams and Tess Waxley and spouse Cole and great-grandchildren; Hunter Bishop, Remmington Bishop, Kimber Bishop, Colt Bishop and Todd Grider.

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Barker Martin and brothers, John Charles Martin and Donald Wayne “Cotton” Martin.

Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Frazer’s Funeral Home with Bro. Dwayne Ashcraft officiating. Burial was in Reaves Cemetery in New Edinburg by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Myles Parker, Marty Huddleston, Andrew Grider, Tanner Williams, Taylor Williams, Trent Saunders, and Brandon Martin.
