Mary Frances Peek Taylor, 89, of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023. She was born June 19, 1933 in Warren to Henry F. Peek and Mary Jane Oakley Peek.
Mary was reared and educated in Warren, graduating from Warren High School in 1951. She worked as an operator at Southwestern Bell after high school and then married Royce Taylor, December 19, 1953 in Warren. They moved to Oregon City, Oregon in 1965, then to Pine Bluff in November of 1979. She was a member of Union #40 Order of the Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary and the United Commercial Travelers, where she was Past President and had twice received the Roses for the Living Award at the national conventions which was rarely given. Mary was also a member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Royce Taylor; daughter, Terry Edmondson; brother, Rufus Peek; grandchildren, Royce Edmondson Lindsey) and Nicole Phillips (Anthony); great grandchildren, Kylie Phillips, Joshua Phillips, Taylor Phillips, Trevor Edmondson and Carson Edmondson; and extended family, Sara Olson and her son, Leif, and Adam St. John.
Preceding her in death were her parents; second daughter whom she helped to raise, Carol Shepard; brothers, Thomas Peek and Franklin Peek; sisters, Ruby Lassiter and Susie Simmons; and son-in-law, Paul Edmondson.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday, March 31, 2023 at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery at Rye. Visitation will be 12:00 PM Friday until funeral time.
