Joen Gavin Bryant passed away Monday, July 10, 2023. She was the daughter of Havis Snow Gavin and Ruth McKinney Gavin, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her cherished husband Raymond Howell Bryant and Scotty McDiarmid Seavers, a daughter and a brother-in-law Morris Dean Bryant.

Joen was a graduate of Warren High School and Arkansas A & M College (Now UAM). She was a lifelong teacher beginning her career in the Bradley County High School and later she moved to Warren Junior High School, where she taught social studies until 2004, when she retired. She was a much beloved teacher, loved to travel, loved her family and was a generous contributor to her birds, which never went without food.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Board of Trustees and the Administrative Council. Ms. Bryant was active in civic life. She was a former member and president of the Bradley Medical Health Foundation Board, an officer of Bradley County Retired Teachers Association, and a member and former officer of Warren Woman’s Club, where she served as treasurer.

She traveled extensively after her retirement and was a voracious reader. Until her health deteriorated, she was also an avid golfer.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, April Bryant Regnier and her husband Robert of Pangburn, AR, and their three children Addison Regnier of Shawnee, Kansas, Regan Birchler and husband Brennan of Plano, TX and Sam Regnier of Alamosa, CO. Other surviving grandchildren are Michael Seavers and wife Jordan, Sheridan, AR, and Haylee Roper, her husband Tyke, England, AR and their two children Caysen Roper and Haydenn Carver. Also surviving her is her sister Earline Johnson of Hot Springs, AR, her sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara Johnson, her husband, James Johnson, Garland Ray Bryant, his wife Bobye Ann, Shirley Smalling and her husband Dennis and numerous nieces and nephews. She also had a special group of friends with whom she shopped and traveled, known as the QuadWhats-- Barbara Arnold, Glenetta Burks, and Cindi Morris.

Pallbearers will be Addison Regnier, Sam Regnier, Michael Seavers, Brennen Birchler, Tony Johnson, Tyke Roper and Jason Gavin.

Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, July, 13 at Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.  Pastor Dixon Platt conducted the service. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
