The Bradley County Quorum Court met last Monday for their last meeting of the year.

The quorum court approved a 2.5 percent increase for all county employees.

Marilyn Johnson, from the Bradley County Medical Center, reported there was an increase in flu cases.

Bradley County Judge Klay McKinney gave updates on the bell tower. The project took two years and two months. The outside cover was still being worked on. The clock mechanism was also being worked on. The judge commented he hoped to have a celebration in February for when it is fully completed. He said the project has about two to three weeks left.

In the sheriff’s report, it was pointed out inmate count had gone down for the month.

Judge McKinney said the multi-purpose building would be constructed on Smith Road.

The quorum court also approved an amendment to the solid waste budget to increase expenditures.
