The Bradley County Chamber of Commerce met for their monthly meeting on Monday.

Rhonda Williams, from the Warren School District, asked the chamber of commerce to partner with the school district for their new reading program that would provide free books to students. The chamber board members approved to partner with the schools. There will be a tent at the upcoming Easter event where books will be handed out. The program is through a $176,000 grant the school received.

The special events committee, headed by Julie Hamilton, announced the Easter Egg Hunt would be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 1 at the Warren City Park. Hamilton also reported the committee was planning Market on Main to return in the spring.

The chamber committee is going through the chamber’s bylaws and some would need to be changed.

Chamber director Terrie White requested participation for the Hospital Doctors Recognition Program.

The board approved to purchase a table for $400 at the fundraiser. A few of the chamber members said they would donate to the chamber to help pay for it.

Former Warren Mayor Denisa Pennington said the town should take advantage of the having a new arena as much as they can. She said events like the regional basketball tournament brings in people from all around to Warren.

The next chamber meeting will be at 12 p.m. on Monday, March 13 at the BCEDC Building.
