Carolyn Ann Anderson Curry, 78

Carolyn Ann Anderson Curry passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at The Blossoms Nursing and Rehab in White Hall, Ark. after a lengthy illness. She was born September 21, 1944 in Wilmar, Ark. to Cecil and Helen Anderson. She was married to Morris Ray Curry for 61 years.

Carolyn and Morris have one daughter, Leigh Curry Browning, of White Hall.  Leigh and her husband, Kyle Browning, are the parents of the Curry’s three grandchildren: Jess, Lucy, and Grace, who were the light of their lives.  Also, part of their family is their nephew Aaron Anderson, whom they raised and his daughter, Kylah. 

Carolyn was a 1962 graduate of Wilmar High School in a graduating class of nine.

Carolyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Warren, and she still supported Wilmar United Methodist Church, her home church. Through the years, Carolyn held many positions in the Warren First United Methodist Church including; member and officer of the Board of Trustees, the Finance Committee, the Administrative Council, and the S/Pastor Parish Relations Committee.

She was a long-time vice president of Warren Bank and Trust where she worked for 54 years until health complications caused her retirement. She was the face of WB&T when she was there. Upon reaching 50 years of employment, June 1st was declared Carolyn Curry Day by the mayor of Warren.

Carolyn also contributed her leadership talents to civic organizations as a member of the Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, BCIDC, and American Red Cross.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Phil and Mike Anderson. Carolyn is survived by a host of nieces and nephews who have maintained a close relationship throughout the years: Shelly, CJ, Krystal, Rob, Andy, Lora, Brad, Shane, and Shanna.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Wilmar Cemetery to celebrate Carolyn’s life with Frazer’s Funeral Home providing the service. After the service, a reception will be held for friends and family in the parlor of the First United Methodist Church in Warren.

Instead of flowers, the Currys have requested that memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church, 111 Church Street, Warren, Ark. 71671 or Wilmar United Methodist Church, Wilmar, AR 71675.
