BCMC unveils marketing video

The Bradley County Medical Center Board met for their monthly meeting on Thursday.

It was reported that hospital visits were down 17 percent from February. Gross revenue for the month was $3.6 million. Accounts Receivable had been down since October.

Bradley County Medical Center CEO Leslie Huitt said February was a good month financially for the hospital.

Huitt reported Medicaid patients would lose eligibility on April 1. She said they were alerting those with Medicaid and sending out flyers to inform them.

The BCMC board approved a bid of $60,390 from Nabholz to repair the plumbing at Brunson Medical Complex. It was approved to pay the bid out of sales tax funds.

Leeanna Williams, Compliance and Risk Management Coordinator, revealed the hospital’s new marketing video to the board.

The video highlighted the services provided by the Bradley County Medical Center. Williams said the video production was done by UAMS and it didn’t cost the hospital. The hospital was chosen by UAMS to produce a marketing video.

Chief Nursing Officer Jamie Wolfe showed a brochure done by Alavant that provides information on transitional care at the hospital.

Wolfe said two anesthesia machines recently came in that were purchased from a USDA grant.

Wolfe reported COVID numbers were “dramatically down”. The hospital also had 12 flu patients admitted in February.

It was reported new billboards were coming. A new billboard is at the intersection by the old Mad Butcher and another is forthcoming between Warren and Monticello promoting jobs at the BCMC.

Masking is not required for visitors, staff, and patients, at the hospital unless the patients is showing symptoms of a contagious condition. For the first time in a long time, Bradley County is in the low range for COVID levels.

The BCMC Hospital Foundation’s Physician Recognition Dinner will be at Immanuel Baptist Church at 6 p.m. on May 5. Tickets can be purchased from Brenda Bryant at the BCMC by April 17.

The next BCMC Board meeting will be on Thursday, April 27.
