BCMC Board reviews finances

The Bradley County Medical Center held their final meeting of the year on Thursday. The board received updates on finances for the year and other business.

Controller Matt Pace reported $3.8 million in patient revenue for the month of December. A lot of the volumes were down during the month of November except for surgeries and obstetrics. He also reported there was a loss of $375,000.

There were comments made on the board about needing to cut expenses.

CEO Leslie Huitt said they had been working on the financial statement audits since their last meeting.

CNO Jamie Wolfe reported COVID had dipped down a little bit. He also stated the flu hit hard, but it was starting to decrease.

Board director Fred Mobley said he heard positive things about the ER department from patients.

CAO Marilyn Johnson reported the USDA grant for the roof was submitted.

It was reported a pipe froze and busted at the Kids First Building during Christmas. It caused two feet of water in the building. Crews were working on drying out the building.

The BCMC marketing team began work on new campaigns.

The next board meeting will be Thursday, January 26.
