The first box of tomatoes for 2025 was brought in by Westin Clanton, son of Randy Clanton Jr. & Skye Clanton, owners of Clanton Farms in Hermitage. The Clanton's have been farming since the 1940's and produce approximately 500 acres of tomatoes and other vegetables. Shown in the box is Cherokee Purple variety. Other varieties that are grown include Bradley, Ramblers, Roadsters, & Pony Express. They also raise cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, cabbage, and watermelons. Shown in the picture is the son of Randy Clanton Jr. & Skye Clanton, Westin Clanton. The Clanton family has five generations of farmers: Sam Clanton, Hollis Clanton, Randy Clanton Sr., Randy Clanton Jr., and Westin Clanton.
