The Warren School Board convened for its regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 9, addressing a range of topics from financial updates to staff recognition and preschool developments.
The meeting opened with the approval of the minutes from the previous month’s meeting. A motion was made to approve the minutes, and the board voted unanimously in favor.
The board then reviewed the financial report for May. The district's operating costs totaled $1,321,732.34, with total revenue across all funds amounting to $1,887,262.58. Expenditures included $870,298.79 for teacher salaries and $540,703.12 in operating costs, leading to total expenditures of $2,183,698.49 for the month.

Superintendent Bryan Cornish presented a report on ABC Preschool, comparing its performance to other regional preschools. He also shared data on students preparing to transition to kindergarten. Following the presentation, the board discussed a grant awarded to ABC Preschool, which currently supports 115 student enrollment slots. The board voted to accept the preschool report and grant update.
The board entered executive session to address personnel matters. Upon returning to open session, a motion was made and approved to accept the personnel decisions discussed.
Superintendent Cornish reported that all district students will continue receiving free lunch, a continuation of the district’s commitment to supporting student nutrition.
The board reviewed and unanimously approved several resolutions.
Cornish also recognized 24 teachers who will be receiving Merit Teacher Incentive Pay, with award amounts ranging from $1,500 to $10,000, in recognition of outstanding performance.
