On Wednesday, February 5, Warren High School celebrated a momentous occasion as seniors, Tramond Miller and Neon’dre Thomas officially declared their commitments to play football for the University of Arkansas Monticello Boll Weevils. Surrounded by family, friends, coaches, and fellow athletes, Miller and Thomas signed their football scholarship papers in a ceremony that highlighted their hard work, dedication, and bright futures that lie ahead.
Head football coach, Bo Hembree started the ceremony by welcoming everyone and talking a little about both players.
“Neon’dre has come a long way,” Hembree said. “The last few years, he has grown up a lot and we’re really proud of him.”
Following Hembree’s statement, he then moved on to talk about Miller.
“Tramond really had a great year this year,” Hembree said. “It was really fun to watch him play and grow.”
The signing ceremony was filled with excitement as both players, made official announcements. Thomas signed first followed by Miller.
“My family and I have decided to further my education at UAM for the next four years,” Thomas said, as the room erupted with cheers and applause from those in attendance.
Following Thomas’s statement, Miller then spoke to the crowd as he signed paperwork sealing his commitment to UAM.
“For the next four years, my family and I have decided to further my education at UAM,” Miller said.
Again, cheers and applause could be heard following Miller’s announcement.
