The Warren Rotary Club met Tuesday, Sept. 19 inside First United Methodist Church. Rotarian Terrie White introduced her program of Warren Fire Department Chief Chuck Moore.

Moore handed out some items, including education on what people can do to help prevent wildfires. The chief stated they are beginning to work on a strategic plan on what to do in the case of a wildfire that threatened the town. He warned the club that there was recently a big wildfire in Louisiana so it is something that could happen.

He also touched on the importance of smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. People who use generators especially need to have carbon monoxide detectors and said there are a handful of people they have helped that would not be alive today without them. Chief Moore said his staff is willing to help install or check smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, just give them a call.

Moore also declared that the fire department was awarded a grant for $230,000 in August.

He concluded his presentation by answering a few questions from the crowd.
