Former Warren Lumberjack and current Tennessee Titans’ wide receiver Treylon Burks had one reception for four yards in two preseason contests in Saturday night’s game. The Titans played against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a win 13-3 for the preseason game.

In the post-game press conference, Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel stated he was encouraged by some of the things Burks did without the football against the Buccaneers, including his work as a blocker.

“There were times when he was open," Vrabel said of Burks. "And there were times where we would like to see a better route. (He) just needs to continue to progress and work on the conditioning in the game and all the things that are required from the receivers."

Burks was selected by the Titans in the first round and 18th pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. According to the Titans website, Burks “brings a rare combination of size, speed, and sure hands”.

He was drafted with the highest pick of any Arkansas player since Darren McFadden was taken fourth overall in 2008. He was also the first Arkansas wide receiver to be selected in the first round since Matt Jones was taken 21st overall by Jacksonville in 2006.
