Tomona Latrica Hagood-Walters lived a life rooted in love and family. She found joy in planting and was always eager to expand her gardening skills, often sharing her growing passion through her garden content on TikTok. She enjoyed trying new restaurants and especially loved Mexican food. She spent a lot of her time playing Monopoly on her cell phone.She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed hosting on special occasions. Above all, Tomona cherished every moment spent with her grandson, Kalix.
Tomona was well known among family and friends for her delicious lemonade, her delicious Christmas treat trays, and her famous lasagna. She was someone who didn’t mind helping or supporting family and friends, an encouraging woman and a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt and grandmother.
She graduated from Crossett High School in 1995, earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 2002, and later received her Master of Business Administration from American InterContinental University in 2018. Her dedication to learning and personal growth was reflected throughout her life.
Tomona was preceded in death by her grandparents Morris and Gladys Hagood; K.W. and Bobbie Thomas; R.L. and Minnie Moore; her grandfather James W. Stanley; her parents Ken and Cynthia Thomas; and her sister Rosalynn Thomas.
She is survived by her dad and step‑mom Henry Lee and Jo Ann Hagood (Dumas); her husband Steven Walters (Sherwood); her daughter Rosalind Smith (Maumelle); her grandson Kalix Patillo; step‑children Marcelis Walters (North Little Rock) and Jazmine (Louis) Mack (North Little Rock); and step‑grandchildren Quitelin Flowers Jr., Cloie Mack, Rodrick Mack, and Samaira Lee. She also leaves behind her siblings LaDonnya Hagood (Maumelle), Brian (Tabetha) Thomas (Sherwood), and Henry Lee II (Octavia) Hagood (Maumelle), along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tomona loved her work as a paraprofessional at Oakbrooke Elementary in Sherwood. She cared deeply for her students and valued the relationships she built with her coworkers. Throughout her life, she held many roles that reflected her compassion and dedication, CNA, inventory clerk at Georgia Pacific, Family Service Worker Specialist at DHS, and waiver services provider.
Tomona’s legacy is one of kindness, devotion, and quiet strength. Her love for her husband, daughter, family, and friends will continue to live on in our hearts.
