Quorum Court receives updates on county building projects

The Bradley County Quorum Court met on Monday to discuss various business.

The quorum court received updates from the Bradley County Medical Center. The hospital is working on getting the Delta Regional grant. They are hoping to grow outpatient services by 10 percent. The hospital is also looking to improve revenue cycle. It was also mentioned that Ashley County had lost their OB services at the hospital.

Bradley County Judge Klay McKinney reported a new roof was up on the search and rescue building. The county is working on chip seal projects for the roads, but the judge said it is hard to find a contractor for it.

The foundation work at the Emergency Services building was finished on Smith Road. Construction continues. Judge McKinney said he wanted the building to be completed before the next election in 2024 so it can be used as a voting center.

Judge McKinney told the quorum court they were still waiting to hear from the governor’s office who will replace the vacancy left by the late Eddie Wayne Parnell, Sr.

The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, November 20.
