Manhunt for Rainey ends

A 30-hour manhunt  for Frederick Rainey ended at Warren Manor Apartments on Burnett Road in Warren.

From the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office: “On April 26, 2023, the manhunt for Fredrick Rainey, a Cleveland county man, who had been sought by police after fleeing from Fordyce officers, was ended when he was apprehended at Warren Manner Apartments on Burnett Road in Warren. Rainey was found hiding under a bed at approximately 3 p.m. after law enforcement received an anonymous tip as to his whereabouts. Rainey was taken into custody without incident and transported to Dallas County Detention Center where he is currently being held pending charges. The two Fordyce officers injured in the incident involving Rainey are due to make a full recovery. Sheriff Tillman extends his gratitude to all agencies involved in the efforts to apprehend Rainey.”

The manhunt started on Monday, April 24 when the Fordyce Police and Dallas County Sheriff’s Department were in pursuit of Rainey that led to Bradley County. Two Fordyce police officers sustained injuries and were med flighted to Little Rock. Both officers are making a full recovery.

Rainey is set at no bond. His first court appearance in front of the judge is May 17.

The following agencies were involved in the search: Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, U.S. Marshalls, Arkansas Department of Corrections, Bradley County Sheriff Department, Dallas County Sheriff Department, Fordyce Police Department, and the ACC Search Team.
