Joette Wallace Cathey, 87, of Warren, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, April 6, 2025. She was born Friday September 24, 1937 in Banks, to Hurley and Lorene O’Neil Wallace. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 71 years E.M. “Curley” Cathey and sibling Bobby Gene Wallace.
Joette was the co-owner and operator of South Ark Auto Auction, where she served as administrative clerk and she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and granny.
Surviving are her children, Tony M. Cathey (Kim), Alesia Lassiter (Donald Lee). Grandchildren Jeff Cathey (Holly), Joey Cathey (Cassidy), Brannigan Dixon (Brian), Marcus Lassiter, two step-grandchildren Megan Holloway (Nick), and Justin Smith, 12 grandchildren. A sister Betty Adair, a host of nieces, and nephews, and friends, three special caregivers.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 8 at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Rocky Goodwin. Burial in Crossroads Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation was Tuesday, April 8 at Frazer’s Chapel. Pallbearers are Jeff Cathey, Joey Cathey, Dallas Cathey, Jude Cathey, Marcus Lassiter, Luke Cathey, Brian Dixon, and Justin Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Gary Simmons and Jerry Denton.
