Jerry Wilson Grider, age 79, of Warren passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at home. He was born on October 12, 1944 in Vick to the late Jessie Wilson Grider and Rita Stanfield Grider. He was a millwright, a member of the Carpenters Local number 576 and a graduate of Warren High School, he was owner and operator of Grider’s fish market and a member and deacon of Christian Fellowship Church. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Darelyn Hammon Grider whom he married on January 18, 1964 and she passed away on August 28, 2013; a granddaughter, Amber Michelle Wilson and brothers, Charles Grider, Mack Grider, Buddy Grider and a sister Mildred Grider Ferrell. Survivors include his daughters, Angela Michelle Grider Wilson of Warren, and Amanda Darlene Grider Pierce of Warren; grandchildren, Chance Lynn Wilson (Venessa) and Michael Austin Pierce; great-grandchildren, Izabella Maelynn Wilson and Marco Damian Wilson-Reyes. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Oakland Cemetery with Brother Wayman Mann officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
