Janet Burkhardt, age 75 of Herbine died Friday, January 3, 2025 at the Woods Nursing Home in Monticello. She was born Monday, November 14 1949 in Warren a daughter of the late R. B. Rauls and Lucille Stewart Rauls. Janet was retired from Armstrong Flooring Company in Warren with over 35 years of service in the flooring industry. She was a baptist and a graduate of Rison Public Schools. Preceding her in death was her husband, Peter Burkhardt whom she married May 7, 1982. He died March 26, 2009, and son Stephen McKinney.
Surviving is her son, Tony Burkhardt, Warren. A Daughter Stephanie McKinney Bigham (Jon) of Warren; a daughter-in-law Annette McKinney of Rye; a step-son Michael Burkhardt (Shannon) of Belize. Brothers James Rauls (Arlene) of Lake Village, and Jeff Rauls of Bearden; sisters Judy Penny of Clarksville and Jo Ann Long (Larry Don) of Monticello; five grandchildren, Dalton Bigham, Kerri McKinney, Matthew McKinney, Bella Burkhardt, and Hunter Burkhardt.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Frazer’s Chapel with Reverand John Hamaker and Reverand Chris Barnes officiating. Burial in Prosperity Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
