Housefire claims house, family accepting donations

A housefire broke out in the middle of the night at 9:14 p.m. on Monday, May 1, on 116 Bradley 191 in Banks. Banks Volunteer Fire Department, Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Hermitage City Fire Department, Hermitage Rural Fire Department, and Jersey Rural Fire Department quickly responded at 9:24 p.m.

According to the Banks Fire Department report, it is unknown where the fire started but it was believed to have started on the back porch. The outside door was on fire when it was noticed by the owners. The report stated there was possibly an outside electrical box there.

There was a downed power line and the back yard was partially burnt. However, the entire house was burned down.

The family is accepting donations. The owners lost all of their personal belongings in the fire. For the husband, donations are accepted for size large shirts, large size jogging pants, large size pajamas, normal size socks, and size 34 to 36x32 jeans. For the wife, they are accepting donations for large size jogging pants, extra-large size t-shirts, size 12 to 14 jeans, normal sock sizes, size extra-large scrub top, and size large scrub pants.
