DEPRESSION

Posted

Depression is one of the most universal psychological maladies. In God’s Word, in Philippians, Paul gives us a remedy. It may not solve everything for every depressed person all the time, but it has a lot to do with how we approach life.

“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again, I say, rejoice.” Philippians 4:4.

He tells us to rejoice. Not only that, he tells us to rejoice in the Lord. There’s a basis for it; we’re His children, and He has done great thing for us – whether we feel it or not. Regardless of how we perceive our lives or the things around us, God has done things for us that are worthy of exuberant celebration. So Paul’s instruction is simply this: to celebrate.

Regardless of what is going on in your life right now, can you find it in you to praise God for His blessings? When you do, you’ll be amazed at the result: life somehow grows more worthy of our joy.
