Deceased body found leads to possible hit and run investigation

At approximately 5:12 a.m. on August, 15, 2023, the Warren Police Department responded to a call of a possible deceased male in a parking lot on the corner of Gannaway and Church Street.

Upon arrival Officers found the body of a white male who was later identified as Eli Perrin, 21, of Arkadelphia. Shortly after arriving on the scene officers discovered that Perrin’s vehicle was involved in a one vehicle accident on Highway 8 North approximately three miles outside the city limits. The accident had been investigated a few hours earlier by the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department. The investigating Deputy Sheriff stated that upon his arrival at the accident the vehicle which was registered to Perrin appeared to have veered off the highway and struck a light pole. The vehicle appeared to have been abandoned due to the fact that there was no driver or anyone else on the scene. Perrin’s body was processed and will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy to determine a cause of death.

According to investigators the incident is being investigated as a crime pending results from the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

On August 16, 2023, the Warren Police Department received the preliminary autopsy result of Eli Perrin. Perrin, 21, was found deceased at the comer of Gannaway and Church St. in Warren on Monday August 14. According to the State Medical Examiner’s Office, Perrin’s death was a result of being struck by a motor vehicle. Law Enforcement Officials have now classified the incident as hit and run/vehicular homicide.
