The Bradley County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for a busy fall season, with several community events on the calendar and plans underway for its annual meeting and holiday activities.

Chamber board members met Monday, Aug. 10, for their regularly scheduled monthly meeting. The meeting began with approval of the July meeting minutes, followed by the approval of the Chamber’s July financial reports, presented by board member Jane Harris.

Board chairman Ana Angeles provided updates on several upcoming Chamber activities, including the August Pop-Up Shop. The event, originally scheduled for Aug. 8, has been rescheduled for Aug. 15 and is planned to be held at Warehouse B and Nanny’s Nest Boutique.

The board also continued discussions surrounding the return of Market on Main, which is planned for September. The community event is expected to bring local vendors and residents together while providing an opportunity to support area businesses.

With fall approaching, the Chamber has also begun preparations for its annual Tent or Treat event. Board members agreed to host the family-friendly event Oct. 31 on Main Street.

The Fundraising Committee reported that research is continuing on three potential fundraising opportunities. The committee plans to present its findings and recommendations to the board during the September meeting.

Chamber Director Nancy Arnold also unveiled the final design for the Chamber’s Christmas banners, which will be displayed along Main Street during the holiday season.

During new business, board members began reviewing the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce bylaws. Any proposed changes or updates will be brought back before the board for further discussion at its September meeting.

The board also selected members to serve on the nominating committee. The committee will be responsible for nominating next year’s class of Chamber officers.

Plans for the Chamber’s annual meeting were discussed, with the event scheduled to take place during the regularly scheduled November board meeting.

The board also addressed its October meeting date. Because the regularly scheduled meeting falls on Columbus Day, members voted to move the meeting to Monday, Oct. 19.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

The next Bradley County Chamber of Commerce board meeting is scheduled for noon Monday, Sept. 14.
