The Bradley County Quorum Court met Monday, April 20, for its regular monthly session.
The meeting opened with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a report from Leeanna Williams, chief operating officer of Bradley County Medical Center. Williams told court members that the hospital’s cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation unit continues to perform well, with patient referrals coming from Arkansas Heart Hospital and Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She said the hospital is proud to provide the service locally, improving access to care for county residents.
The court approved the March meeting minutes, along with the treasurer’s and sheriff’s reports.
County Judge Klay McKinney provided an update on state aid, noting that road work is currently underway.
In old business, the court voted to table a decision on the proposed purchase of the Stark property until next month.
Warren Mayor Gregg Reep addressed the court regarding funding for the District Court Clerk position. Reep said the Warren City Council is asking the county to revisit the salary arrangement and consider covering half of the cost. Currently, both the chief and deputy district court clerks are paid through the city, with the county contributing half of one clerk’s salary while the city covers the full cost of the second position.
After the county judge addressed the city, the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting of the Bradley County Quorum Court is scheduled for Monday, May 18, at 6 p.m.
