The Bradley County Quorum Court met Monday, March 16, for its regular monthly meeting with one member absent.
4-H member Alyssa Martinez led the Pledge of Allegiance before County Judge Klay McKinney called the meeting to order.
Bradley County Medical Center Chief Operating Officer Leeanna Williams provided an update on hospital operations and invited the community to attend the facility’s 75th anniversary celebration June 11. Williams said a special reception will be held at the hospital as part of the event.
Bradley County Extension Office Family and Consumer Science Agent Penny Waits presented the office’s annual impact report, outlining services provided and total community contacts made during 2025. Waits thanked the quorum court for its continued financial support and noted the office is currently seeking to fill a vacant full-time agriculture agent position.
The court approved the February meeting minutes, along with the treasurer’s and sheriff’s reports.
McKinney said state aid work is expected to begin on Bradley County roads 57 and 1 after notification from the state coordinator that crews are ready to proceed.
McKinney also reported receiving notice from county attorney Ricky Roper regarding a request from a Little Rock law firm seeking a recount in a recent Arkansas state representative race. Laura “Missy” Wardlaw retained the firm to investigate potential irregularities in certain Bradley County precincts.
During discussion, officials said recent redistricting efforts may have resulted in some voters being left out. The state Geographic Information Systems office has been contacted to verify district lines, and any affected registered voters will be notified. Wardlaw won the race in Bradley County.
In other business, the court unanimously approved the appointment of Ethan Vickers to the Bradley County Medical Center board. Vickers will replace outgoing member Keith Neely.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The next quorum court meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 20, at 6 p.m.`
