A ceremony to swear in newly elected officials was held on Thursday, January 2 at the Bradley County Courthouse. District Judge, Bruce Anderson was present administer the oath of office to a range of local leaders, marking the beginning of their terms of service. The ceremony began with the swearing in of the Justices of the Peace. The current justices, who will serve the county, include: Dana Harvey, Alton Ray Richard, Jim Anders, Bobby Hargrave, Tony Cathey, Jimmy Sledge, Pat Mormon, Mike Jolley, and Gwendolyn Bullard.
Following the justices, the focus shifted to the members of the Warren City Council. Each council member was sworn in, and they will continue their work to serve the city of Warren. The final swearing-in of the evening was for Kenneth Ferguson, who will serve as a Bradley County Constable of Washington Township.
Each of the newly sworn-in officials will serve two-year terms and will be up for reelection in 2026. The ceremony marked a moment of reflection for the officials and their supporters, as well as a new chapter in leadership for the county and city of Warren.
The residents of Bradley County look forward to the dedication and service of these elected officials as they work to represent their constituents over the coming years.
