The Bradley County 4-H program hosted its 77th Annual Awards Banquet on Monday, March 30, recognizing youth accomplishments from the 2025 program year.
The banquet, sponsored by Warren Bank and Trust for all 77 years of its existence, drew approximately 100 attendees. Bradley County 4-H currently serves about 70 active youth members.
During the event, participants were recognized with certificates and pins for their involvement in a variety of activities, including animal husbandry, record book keeping, public speaking and food challenges.
Bradley County 4-H members also earned recognition beyond the county level this year, with one youth receiving a state award in bait casting and another earning a district award in record book keeping.
The Member of the Year honor was awarded to Antonia Davis, who was selected for her active participation in meetings and competitions, as well as her positive attitude. The Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Carol Murphy for her work assisting youth in the Sewing Club.
Bradley County 4-H offers several clubs for youth involvement, including Sewing Club, Archery Club, Cooking Club and the Superstars Club, which focuses on teaching the importance of community service.
The banquet was held at Immanuel Baptist Church and was catered by Fran Van Der Zwalm.
The 4-H program is conducted by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service. The organization emphasizes the development of head, heart, hands and health, aiming to equip youth with the skills needed to become leaders in their communities.
Core elements of the program include leadership, youth-adult partnerships, life skills development and community service. The program is open to youth ages 5 to 18.
