BCMC Foundation raises $9,000

It was announced at the monthly Bradley County Medical Center Board meeting on Thursday the Bradley County Foundation Board raised $9,000 at the Foundation Board Dinner that was held on May 5. The Foundation Board also donated an additional $5,000.

The funds donated and raised will go towards purchasing a laptop charging station and laptops for the remodeled conference room at the hospital.

Matt Pace presented the financial report. There were $2.6 million in gross patient revenue.  He also reported volume was down for the month.

“One thing we can’t control is volume,” said BCMC CEO Leslie Huitt.

The hospital maintenance department was looking to do an overall assessment for the plumbing at the hospital.

CEO Huitt said the roof project was getting started. They were waiting on the materials.

CNO Jamie Wolfe reported they were doing a quality initiative program for labor and delivery. It will help with education on natural birth and C-sections. The program will also qualify the BCMC as a birth-safety hospital.

HIPAA policies were approved.

There were updates to the BCMC Out-Patient Therapy Clinic No-Show Policy. It was reported there was a rise of “no-shows” at the therapy clinic. The policy will have patients sign off on the definition of “no-shows” and penalties of not showing up for appointments.

The board approved Matt Pace to have his signature on checking accounts and CD accounts. He will replace Marilyn Johnson who previously retired.

The next board meeting will be on Thursday, June 22.
