Lady Jacks track team win state championship in Fayetteville

The Lady Lumberjacks Indoor Track and Field Team, led by Coach Janice Reddick, won the 2023 Class 4A Girls State Indoor Track and Field Championship held at the Ranal Tyson Track Center ath the Univeristy of Arkansas at Fayetteville in Fayetteville. They were recognized Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders,  State Representative Jeff Wardlaw and State Senator Ben Gilmore.

The Lady Jacks won the championship with a score of 76.5 points. They won the 1,600-meter relay race with a time of 4:24:44 and was run by Aria Hunt, Azul Garcia, Ember Johnson, and Aaliyah Walton.

The Lady Jacks placed in the 60-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, the 400-meter race, the 800-meter race, the 3,000-meter relay race, the long jump, and the shot put.

“These young ladies were excited about going to Fayetteville and to participate in the Indoor State Track Meet. I Enjoyed coaching these young ladies as they are a group of ladies that are ambitious and smart,” said Coach Reddick.

The team received a copy of the resolution recognizing their win from the state of Arkansas on the House floor.

The Lady Jacks team recieved the resolution at the state capitol in Little Rock.
